NSW Government Community Building Partnership scheme grant received - 20th October 2025
We are very grateful for the support from the NSW Government Community Building Partnership scheme for our instrument acquisition program - Essential Instruments: Providing access to critical musical instruments for volunteer concert band musicians to support community engagement in the Arts.
Our organisation has been awarded $11,795 to purchase a baritone saxophone and tam tam (pictured below). The essential instruments program provides opportunities for musicians to experience quality musical instruments that would otherwise be impossible to access. Our concerts and repertoire of music will be enhanced, increasing the types of performances and level of audience enjoyment. The baritone saxophone will be available as part of our instrument loan program and the tam tam is an important addition to our percussion instrumentation.
Pictured is Trish Doyle MP: Member for Blue Mountains who attended a December Christmas event to celebrate these new instruments which have been purchased. Current President of BMCB Inc. Marion Chapman is beside her. Kath Weston, past MYB Administrator is pictured holding the mallet used to strike the tam-tam, which has the most beautiful sound. Frank Fornarsari, past President of BMCB Inc. is pictured with baritone saxaphone. We look forward with excitement to use these instruments in 2026.
